BREAKING BENJAMIN LIVE AT THE SHORELINE AMPHITHEATRE IN MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA ON 7/24/18

Breaking Benjamin bring their musical barrage of aggression to the Shoreline Amphitheatre as part of a co headlining gig with Five Finger Death Punch. The band is able to give us a full set of music I am looking forward to hearing live. With the release of the sixth studio album ‘Ember” earlier this year, Breaking Benjamin open the show with the hit track ‘Red Cold River’ from that album.

‘I Will Not Bow’ & ‘Never Again’ are played next as fans show their excitement of seeing Benjamin Burnley and his crew command the attention to all those at the venue. Burnley is slender and hopefully his health is on an upward slide. He still has the vigor of a leading frontman as he breaks into ‘Breath’ off of their 2006 release “Phobia”.

At this point of the show, drums are brought out to the center of the stage and Burnley and the rest of Breaking Benjamin go into playing the ‘Imperial March’ from Star Wars. The band continue to play covers as the break into ‘Schism’ by Tool, ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ by Nirvana (which is fitting since Burnley has the band tattooed on his arm), Pantera’s ‘Walk’, and ‘Sad But True’ by the Bay Area’s own Metallica.

As the sun sets, vocalist Burnley, guitarists Keith Wallen & Jasen Rauch, bassist Aaron Bruch, and drummer Shaun Foist turn things up a notch as the amphitheatre is now completely packed. ‘Sooner or Later’, ‘Blow Me Away’, and ‘So Cold’ continue the set. Burnley continues to work the crowd as the band plays several more hits like ‘Failure’, ‘Until The End’, ‘Believe’, and my favorite ‘Angels Fall’.

Breaking Benjamin work the crowd as they close the show with ‘Torn in Two’ and an incredible version of ‘The Diary of Jane’. This was the first time seeing the band live and the band put on an electrifying show and I look forward to seeing them again in the future.
