Dyscarnate to release “With All Their Might” on September 15th via Unique Leader Records

Proclaimed “the new kings of UK death”, the band Dyscarnate is definitely just that by being able to produce well structured, and all out heavy music.  One can sense the time and effort put into everything from the overall flow and feel of the album.

When asked about the album the band had stated “With All Their Might is the sound of us nailing our colours to the mast in no uncertain terms,” states the band. “We’ve always worked on each new album as its own entity, and feel the whole thing needs to flow as one cohesive piece. Every song has its place on the record, but the lyrics and feel of each one reflects a signature theme. We feel that while this record is the most complete thing we’ve ever done, it’s also the most varied, dynamic and evolved we have ever been. We have written this album for no one but ourselves, and as a result feel we have something our fans will really connect to.”

Their soon to be released album titled “With All Their Might” is set to be available on September 15th via Unique Leader records.  This album is composed of eight heavy ass tracks that will make you want to get up and mosh, and punch some faces.  Accordingly, all of their songs are extremely well spaced out vocally and instrumentally, which allows the whole song to breathe, and not sound so condensed.  Most of their songs really stood out to me, but I chose to write about the ones that stood out the most.

“Of Mice And Mountains” is their intro song, and gets right to the point.   It’s very heavily drum based in structure, but is expertly accompanied by some up-tempo guitar riffs.  Their ability to seamlessly change up their tempo is highlighted from the get go, as well as both the bass and guitar players death metal infused vocals.  The following track “This Is Fire!” changes things up with its more complicated guitar riffs.  Their doubling up of vocals also helps add more depth to the track, as they also add somewhat orchestral backings towards the end of the song.  “Iron Strengthens Iron” is just as hard as it sounds!  This song is heavy from the very beginning and capitalizes on its upbeat drum patterns and filthy guitar/bass chugs.  The depth of the lead vocalist’s screams are very pronounced in addition, as he’s able to reach those grimy sounding squeals but still mix it up.

The next song “Traitors In The Palace” is one of their best songs of this album in my opinion.  It starts out, and continues, with some synths and low-pitched guitars/drums that almost puts you in a lulled like state, until all hell breaks loose with the delivery of brutal vocals that puts everything into place.

This band’s ability to subtly change the style of each song, but still stay within the same genre is extremely refreshing to hear.  The band had stated “Inspiration has come from everywhere on the musical spectrum and beyond. We didn’t want to work within any kind of parameters, and tried things we wouldn’t have gone near in the past. Song and lyric concepts have included (among many others): existential dread, insanity, human perception, and strength of will.”

The last song that I chose to write about, and coincidently the last track on the album and also my favorite, is titled “Nothing Seems Right”.  Contrary to the title, everything seemed right to me about this song!  This song seemed to build up everything previously from the prior tracks into this one badass closer.  It starts with a minute long instrumental that is heavily backed by mechanical sounding synths.  The slow delivery of vocals wakes everything up and slowly builds up in tempo until it reaches that death metal depth, and then slowly fades out for the last minute.  Overall, it was the perfect song to end on.
Their ability to show different aspects of the death metal genre into each one of their tracks is mainly what made this album work so well.  “With All Their Might” is an absolute banger, and as a result, I can’t think of a single thing to change about this album.
