Collectively tapping into their punk rock and hip-hop roots with a desire to provoke change, Fear No Empire is Ali Tabatabaee – Vocals (zebrahead,) Ben Ozz – Bass (zebrahead,) Dan Palmer – Guitar (zebrahead, Death By Stereo,) and Mike Cambra – Drums (The Adolescents, Death by Stereo and Common War.) The four band members share an artistic connection, combined years of experience, and a desire to voice their frustration and stand up against social injustice in all forms.

“When we decided to start a new band, we knew how important it was for us to use our platform to call out injustice and help bring positive change to the world” says Ali Tabatabaee.

They kicked off their musical protest on August 19, with the release of their debut song and video for “Revolt” which has racked up over 50k streams on Spotify in just two weeks. Today they release the song and video for “Amplifier.” Tabatabaee explains, “Our second single “Amplifier” emphasizes the socioeconomic and racial inequities that put people at a higher risk of contracting COVID-19. Disparities in healthcare access, education, criminal justice, and housing amplify the spread and impact the virus has on racial and ethnic communities. Income inequality allows some to social distance, while others are forced out of necessity into crowded housing or essential work in close contact with others, thereby increasing their chances of exposure.”

As protests for social justice continue across the globe, the songs on Fear No Empire’s debut album call out systemic racism, racial inequality, oppression, xenophobia, police brutality, white supremacy, voter suppression, anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination, and all forms of injustice, prejudice and bigotry.

“Our goal is to make the music as powerful as our message and hope it resonates with people and inspires them to use their voice” says Tabatabaee.
