Legendary rock guitarist Jeff Beck has died today of bacterial meningitis at the age of 78. His family announced on social media that:

“On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s passing. After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he peacefully passed away yesterday. His family ask for privacy while they process this tremendous loss.”

Known his days with The Yardbirds (along side of Jimmy Page), The Jeff Beck Group, & Beck, Bogart, & Appice. He was also guests played for Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Bon Jovi, and most recently Ozzy Osbourne.

I met Jeff years ago and he was such a nice person. He took the time to talk about cars and music and although it was a blip on his timeline, it was forever engrained in mine. He will always be knowns as one of the greatest guitarists.

Rest in peace Jeff Beck
