Global pop sensation aespa revisit their latest full-length album with iScreaM Vol.33 : Supernova / Armageddon Remixes. Comprised of six tracks — including “Supernova (Grimes Remix)” and “Armageddon (Flava D Remix)” — the project is available now via SM Entertainment and Virgin Music Group. Listen HERE.

Grimes renders “Supernova” in a dream-pop intergalactic landscape with layered vocals and sweeping, celestial synths. The avant-garde electronic music artist and producer described her production as a return to ‘cyber twee’. She posted on X: “I normally don’t do remixes but I could not resist messing with this acapella even though the original production on this song is undefeatable. I went back to cyber twee for this… it’s very Grimesy.” Watch the accompanying music video HERE.

The Grimes Remix offers a fresh interpretation of aespa’s biggest hit to-date – “Supernova” spent an impressive 15 consecutive weeks at number one on major Korean music platforms Melon and Genie, even setting a new record on Melon for the longest-running number one in the platform’s history, surpassing a milestone that had been in place since its launch in November 2004.

The EP also features three new remixes of “Armageddon” by UK-based producer and DJ Flava D, and Korean producers 2Spade and Mount XLR.

Renowned ‘Queen of UK bass’ Flava D reimagines “Armageddon” as a spiky drum ‘n’ bass track, blending old school elements with a modern edge. With an enviable catalogue that traverses garage, grime, bassline, and DnB, Flava D adds a new twist to this monster K-Pop smash. Watch the music video HERE.

SM Entertainment’s dance music label, ScreaM Records, is currently running the ‘iScreaM’ project, which focuses on remixing tracks by SM artists. iScreaM Vol.33 : Supernova / Armageddon Remixes marks its 33rd release, extending the already massive reach of two of this summer’s biggest hits “Supernova” and “Armageddon” taken from aespa’s debut full-length album Armageddon.

Armageddon landed in the wake of the 2023 EP, Drama –The 4th Mini Album. The latter not only piled up hundreds of millions of global streams, but it also bowed at #2 on the Billboard Top World Albums Chart and in the Top 40 of the Billboard 200. Fittingly, CLASH hailed it as “a welcomed expansion to the aespa universe.”

Prior, MY WORLD – The 3rd Mini Album bowed at #9 on the Billboard 200 and marked their second #1 debut on the Top Album Sales Chart. Its predecessor, Girls – The 2nd Mini Album, catapulted into the Top 3 of the Billboard 200 and clinched #1 on the Top Album Sales Chart.
