A Thousand Horses are back in the saddle for 2017 with the release of their brand new single ‘Preachin’ to the Choir’. The track is the first to be taken from their forthcoming second album, due for release on BMLG Records later this year.
‘Preachin’ To The Choir’ premiered yesterday on Rolling Stone Country. Speaking to them, A Thousand Horses frontman Michael Hobby said, “’Preachin’ To The Choir’ is the working people’s anthem. It’s about the people that give it 100 percent and are an all-in/all-out kind of crowd. They work hard, they love hard and they play hard, and that’s what the song really speaks to.”
“We are excited to share the new music with fans,” continues Hobby. “We have been away for a bit in the studio writing and recording but are now ready to get out there and perform the new stuff.”
‘Preachin’ To The Choir’ embodies ATH’s southern rock roots and contemporary country mix, with Michael Hobby’s husky vocals enhanced by Bill Satcher and Zach Brown on guitar and Graham Deloach on bass.
The new single is a fitting follow-up to their 2015 debut album SOUTHERNALITY, which was released to great critical acclaim in the UK and featured their US chart-topping single ‘Smoke’. That track saw them become the first band to send their debut single to No. 1 on Billboard Country Airplay Charts this decade. The video has now had close to 17 million views.
