BEHEMOTH! LIVE AT THE BILL GRAHAM CIVIC AUDITORIUM IN SAN FRANCISCO, CA ON 8/9/17

In the absence ov light, we can make out ominous figures taking the stage as Poland’s Behemoth bring death metal in its proper glory to San Francisco. Frontman Nergal commands the audience as he owns the floor with his guttural delivery of vocals and brooding guitar. Nergal stands behind his alter of snakes and symbols, draped in whiteface and a hood while the rest of his crew are adorned leather with a modern day Viking tone.

The stage is worked with plenty of lights including plenty of Hellish red (a curse to any photographer). The backdrop is the large triangular symbol hovering over the drum set which is also is the center piece of Nergal’s alter. Nergal, along with guitarist Seth, bassist Orion, and tour fill in drummer Jon Rice pound the audience into submission with ‘Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer’, ‘Chant for Ezkaton 2000’, ‘Ov Fire and the Void’, and a few others as the play a short but fully loaded set.

Always a band to entertain, while giving an energy level to please all metalheads from death to thrash. We hope to see Behemoth hit the bay area again soon with a headlining date to play their full show. For all those who attended, there was no disappointments to be had.
