Marsha Zazula who co founded Megaforce Records helped launch thrash metal dies at 68

Marsha Zazula and her husband Jon Zazula co founded Megaforce Records in 1982 to start a US label that would help launch thrash metal and the careers of Metallica, Anthrax, Testament, and so many more.  Marsh died at the age of 68 on Saturday at her home in Florida. The cause of death was cancer.

Marsha and Jon started Megaforce Records at the time when the birth of thrash metal was beginning and bands of that nature had minimal label interest and commercial record companies were not touching. Thanks to Marsha and Jon, thrash metal thrived and other bands in different fields were also able to launch their careers such as Ministry, Living Colour, Bad Brains, & Alien Ant Farm. But their biggest feather in their cap is signing an unknown band named Metallica.

Marsha will be missed in the music world and our condolences to her family, friends, and those effected by her loss.
